This course will walk you through the steps to verify insurances.
- Go to the respective insurance company’s portal.
- You can find this on the Admin Guide with a list of all of our in network insurances.
- The Indiana Medicaid Portal is the only one you will have your own login for, for the others use the username and password listed.
- Sign in with the credentials listed.
- You can find this on the Admin Guide with a list of all of our in network insurances.
- Look up the client’s insurance policy with their member ID and DOB/First and Last Name (whatever the portal asks for).
- Select the client’s election of benefits, if necessary.
- Verify they have coverage for our services (look for psychotherapy, mental health, behavioral health, office or outpatient).
- Save the Explanation Of Benefits to index into their chart later.
- In the client’s chart under the Insurance Information tab, enter the insurance’s member ID, Group Number, start date (if available), copay (if available), co-insurance (if applicable) and deductible (if available) and hit Save.
- If the client has a secondary or tertiary insurance, be sure to select the correct option from the “insurance sequence” drop down.
