Welcome to our Suicide Risk Assessment Training! We recognize that the mental health field is always changing and, as therapists, we are consistently learning new information on how to best serve our clients. Suicide risk assessment is a complex topic that is essential for maintaining the safety and well-being of our clients. However, there is much to learn in this area and can take practice.

Have you left sessions unsure of how to best help clients? Have you ever doubted the appropriate interventions to use with clients navigating suicidal ideation? As clinicians, we recognize the time and experience it takes to feel confident in this area. Through this course, we hope to help you broaden your knowledge on this topic and add to your clinical tool belt, so you can feel confident navigating suicide risk with your clients.

This course will be facilitated by Ms. Ashley Earle and Dr. Ashley Michalski both who have extensive experience mitigating risk in a variety of settings.

Ms. Earle is a graduate of Valparaiso University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology with a criminology concentration. She continued on to complete her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ball State University. For the past five years, she has been working with pre-teens, teens, and young adults with varying mental health concerns including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, victims of sexual abuse, adjusting to life transitions, school avoidance, social skills, and juvenile delinquency. Ms. Earle conducts intake assessments and trains clinicians new to intake assessments; focusing on identifying risk levels and determining appropriate levels of care.

Dr. Michalski is a graduate from Adler University’s Doctorate of Clinical Psychology program. She has completed clinical training in correctional, community based, and private practice settings. Throughout these settings, she has provided hundreds of risk assessments to determine placement within correctional settings to ensure safety, as well as assessments to determine appropriate level of care in the community. Dr. Michalski has extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, work-related stress, and addictions.
